Olivia Hrouda

Senior Interior Designer

Prior to joining Smith + Tracey in 2004, Olivia spent two years working with the Campus Development Team at Deakin University. In that role she learned to explore facility design from the perspective of the end user and designer concurrently. Now, Olivia advocates an immersive and collaborative approach to design, and recognises the importance of identifying with the user in order to deliver a successful design outcome.

Understanding people’s behaviours, triggers and desires to create relevant and purposeful spaces is what excites Olivia about interior design. She sees this as the opportunity to question inherent concepts of ‘place’ and challenge ‘convention’ to deliver creative and soulful environments. A successful interior is all about capturing character and identity.

Olivia is an accredited member of the Design Institute of Australia and is interested in the sustainability of architecture and design from both the environmental and social perspectives.
