Buildings are about ideas, function, and delight. They are full of meaning in their form, materiality, and planning. They expressively tell a story about our culture, the way we wish to live, function and how we become a community. These are the necessary characteristics Stas works to achieve in every project.
An important contemporary challenge in architecture is how to create adaptable spaces within an increasingly dense built environment and at the same time maintain a sustainable quality of life. Stas has responded to this challenge in many sectors including education, sport and recreation, multi residential, and aged care. He strives to bring thoughtful, functional, challenging and visually exciting design outcomes for clients and the building’s occupants.
Teaching and running Architectural Design Studios at RMIT provide another outlet to test ideas, do research, and contribute to the architectural discourse and education of architects as well as contributing to his professional body of work.
