Allity’s continued aspirations to improve the life of older Australians they care allowed the design aspirations to be tested and evolve in the new two storey extension completed at their Lexington Garden, Springvale residence.
Tasked with designing a 38 bed extension in an existing retirement and aged care community the new building needed to address the multicultural profile of the area and provide a welcoming statement to the site complimentary to the two storey neighbourhood character of the locality.
Lifestyle enhancements such as the library, café, private dining, ‘E’ zone, activated courtyards and a playground into the project allow added destination places for residents to explore, recreate and socialise inclusive of their families.
The built form is similar, residential in scale and with recognizable neighbourhood finishes. The design maximises passive solar and natural daylight principals and all resident rooms are provided with direct external access to admire the outlook or interact with the garden areas.
