BASScare

With the natural beauty of the Back Creek Reserve as the backdrop to the site, smith + tracey’s team took inspiration from this bushland setting in designing the new assisted living facility for Basscare. Known as – Morgan Glen Iris – the accommodation and lifestyle offering emerged from the consultative and collaborative process that explored Basscare’s aspirations for its newest community.

The sculptural facade which features moulded, undulating panels that reference the ripples of the nearby creek – allows the building to seamlessly integrate within the site.

Specifically designed to offer a new form of seniors living, Morgan Glen Iris has been thoughtfully laid out to effectively offer ‘apartments with service’.

The building includes 62 one and two-bedroom luxury assisted living apartments and community facilities over 3 levels, the complex straddles the line between retirement living and residential aged care. It provides residents assisted living, offering support designed to meet each individual’s specific needs.

The lifestyle offering includes a range of shared spaces from a fully stocked library, billiards room, a salon, spa, gym, cinema, underground car parking and storage, as well as a restaurant and bar.

The interiors are enhanced by the quality of materials chosen. The use of Timber throughout brings a warmth to the building, matte brass, green tones and stone also complement this. The interior is influenced by and references a modern art deco aesthetic adding richness and glamour to the interior spaces.

With all of our projects, our goal is to create environments that enhance the relationship between people and their surroundings, Morgan Glen Iris It’s just a very welcoming building to walk into, it feel like the building already has a soul…
