Mercy Place Mentone

Located in the suburb of Mentone, Mercy Place offers a contemporary approach to aged care, inspired by the compassionate legacy of the Sisters of Mercy.

Thoughtfully designed by smith+tracey, the residence draws upon the De Hogeweyk care philosophy, which focuses on person-centred care and supports a meaningful, everyday life for people living with dementia.

The facility comprises 128 beds, arranged into 16 small households of eight residents each, spread across four levels. Each household features its own residential-style kitchen, dining, and living areas, encouraging residents to participate in familiar daily routines and activities in a homelike environment.

At ground level, the lifestyle precinct brings the community to life with engaging spaces that include a children’s play area, grocer, café, cinema, lounge bar, salon, gymnasium, and chapel—creating opportunities for social connection and enjoyment.

“A large central courtyard offers a vibrant outdoor setting where residents can connect with nature, relax, or take part in gardening and other meaningful outdoor activities”.
