Building works at Victoria Road Primary School (formerly Lilydale West Primary) was completed recently and formed an important part to their rebranding, with students and teachers excited to begin the move into their new spaces. The project consisted of refurbishing existing 70’s buildings and the addition of new learning areas. Principal Lisa Branch and the then Assistant Principal Anita Elliot enthusiastically led the School’s vision for this project and participated in an inclusive and collaborative design process with Smith+Tracey, which resulted in adventurous and creative learning spaces with themes of adventure. There was a focus on inspiring curiosity and creating flexible spaces that supported a range of learning activities. Smith+Tracey look forward to working with the school through post occupancy reviews to monitor the exploration of enhanced educational outcomes through the synergy of collaborative team teaching, adaptive learning programs and space transformation. #smithtracey#smithtraceyarchitects#peoplecentreddesign#architizer#architecture_au#australianarchitecture#melbournearchitecture#archdaily#designthinking#architecturelovers#architecturephoto#awardwinningdesign#educationdesign#melbourne#architecture#mccollsmith_projects
