Smith+Tracey worked closely with the College leadership to develop the tired existing single court into a highly valued new double court Sports Centre, with support change facilities, including the flexible foyer space which has the capacity for a teaching space to extend the learning opportunities of the sports curriculum.
The extended competition standard second court was designed to celebrate the sporting activities on offer at the College, by providing glazing to the McCormicks Road frontage allowing passers-by to be engaged by the sporting action within.
This ‘beacon’ of sport has also maintained and attracted a high demand of community use, establishing a real presence within the Carrum Downs learning community and broader sporting community.
